History of Antigua & Barbuda Citizenship by Investment

The Investment Programme (CIP) was established following parliamentary assent to the Antigua and Barbuda Citizenship by Investment Regulations 2013.

Section 6 of the Citizenship by Investment Act, 2014 contains the newest Regulations regarding Citizenship by Investment in Antigua and Barbuda. This act allows residents of the island nation to benefit from investments in the country made by applications to the CIP program.

The university contribution is specifically designed for families with 6 or more members. With this option, one family member under 29 years can study at the University of the West Indies for a year for free.

Option 4

Business Investment
$1,500,000+

This option offers two possible investments: A single investor can spend $1.5 million to build a company in Antigua and Barbuda or a group investment of $5 million is permitted to obtain a Antigua and Barbuda passport. The group investment requires each individual investor to contribute at least $400,000. 

You can include family members in the application for an additional investment of $150,000 for each additional member starting from the 5th family member. The country requires an additional fee of $30,000. 

Eligibility Criteria

In order to qualify to apply for a Antigua and Barbuda citizenship, applicants must have:

  • Clean Criminal Record
  • Valid Passport (with a minimum validity of six months)
  • National Identity documents from Country of Birth or Country of Residence 
  • Birth Certificates 
  • Additional Documentation including CVs, Education, and Work History
  • Valid Proof of Address 

 

Antigua & Barbuda allows applicants to include their close family members as dependents on their Citizenship application. All family members receive their Citizenship Certificates and Passports together. 

Eligible Dependents that you can include in an application are: 

  • A spouse of the main applicant
  • A child of the main applicant or his or her spouse who is 0-30 years of age and is financially dependent on the principal applicant
  • A child of the main applicant or of his/her spouse who is 18 years or older, but who is physically or mentally handicapped and who is living with and is fully supported by the main applicant
  • A parent or grandparent of the main applicant, or his or her spouse, who is 55 years of age or older and who is financially dependent on the principal applicant
  • A sibling of the main applicant, or of his or her spouse, if unmarried

Restrictions: All Nationalities are eligible to apply for Citizenship in Antigua & Barbuda except Citizens of Afghanistan, Iran, North Korea & Somalia.

Preparing your
Application (2-4 weeks)

Government Due Diligence
(3 months or more)
Our team submits the completed application and documents to Antigua and Barbuda’s CBIU after we receive your payment for the due diligence and legal management fees. The Antiguan Government will then begin its due diligence checks on all adult applicants. The CBIU usually responds with its findings and approval in 120 - 180 working days (varies depending on volume of applications at the CBIU).
The Final Investment
(up to 90 days)
After our team receives the approval from the Government, we will request you to make the final payment towards your chosen investment or contribution option. This requirement usually has to be fulfilled within 90 days of receiving the approval.
Receive your Second
Citizenship (2-6 weeks)
Your new passport and citizenship certificate will reach our office approximately 30 days after the final payment. From there, you can either collect your passport in one of our offices or choose to have them couriered to your registered address.
