Portugal’s D7 Visa requires the applicant to have passive income and rent or purchase a property in Portugal. You will need to live in the country for 16 months during the first 2 years. Otherwise, the government may invalidate your residence permit. Passive income can come from retirement payments, passive income sources, or dividends.
In order to qualify for the visa, a single applicant will need at least €9,840/year. If you intend to apply with a spouse, an additional €4,230/year are required. Dependent children will require €2,538/year more passive income per child.
Eligibility Criteria
In order to qualify to apply for a D7 Visa, applicants must have:
- Clean Criminal Record
- Valid Passport (with a minimum validity of six months)
- National Identity documents from Country of Birth or Country of Residence
- Birth Certificates
- Proof of passive income
